When thrust bearing is being installed, the squareness of shaft washer and center line should be examined,. The methods are as follows: fix the dial gauge on the surface of the casing and make the contactor beside the upside of KOYO bearing
washer. Observe the pointer of dial gauge after rotating KOYO bearing. The runout of pointer indicates the non- squareness of shaft washer and center line. If the hole of casing is much deep, the longer dial gauge should be used.
With the correct installation of thrust bearing, housing washer can adapt the roll of rolling body automatically in order to guarantee that rolling body is on the raceway of up and down washeres. The wrong installation will lead to abnormal working of KOYO bearing and serious wearing of each coordinated part. Be careful in the process of installation because of the similarities of shaft washer and housing washer. There should be 0.2—0.5mm gap between housing washer of thrust bearing and saddle bore in order to make up for the error resulted from inaccuracy of parts processing and installation. If KOYO bearing ring center is offset in operation, the gap can guarantee its automatic ajustment. In this way, the friction is avoided and the bearing can work normally. Otherwise, KOYO bearing will be damaged seriously.
