About the installation of SKF Tapered Bore Bearings, for the bigger bearing, it advises to use the SKF Drive-uo Method which is using less time and more exact than the mothed of contraction angle which is used in testing interal clearance and blocking nut. For the installation of oversize bearings, it can use the SKF Sensor Mount Method to test the degree of swelling of inner ring. Because of the sensor locating in the inner ring, it can be installed easier, faster and exacter.

 

The bearings with tapered bore are fixed by interference fit. The degree of interference can be tested through the radial interal clearance and degree of inner axial displacement on the tapered neck. The installation’s method which is fit for installation of tapered bore spherical bearing include: testing interal clearance, testing the degree of swelling of inner ring, testing axial forward distance; small bearings with inner diameter 10mm or below, can be fixed by testing the locking angle of blocking nut.
